Women have A LOT going on these days (each and every day!), and investing some time in ourselves and our wellness can help us survive the madness… Whether it’s ensuring we get a decent kip, hanging out with our friends, getting outside into nature, or simply doing whatever brings us joy.

My great grandparents owned a footwear business (explains my overflowing shoe collection….) and my grandparents, Cliff and Joan -shown here, owned a classic corner shop for many years - providing not only a local shop, but a store at the heart of the community. While running this store, they worked hard, but also found every which way they could to enjoy life in the moments they were given. Be it hanging out with family, walking the Derbyshire Dales or simply sitting with yet another cup of tea. I regularly ask myself, what would Joan do????

So with an inherited love of retail and appetite for life, I hit my 40's and experienced first hand how a bit of wellness can go a long way. Navigating my way through peri-menopause and burnout, gaining as much knowledge as I could showed me what a crazy time this can be. It fuelled a desire to bring this conversation and knowledge to as many women as possible.

Finally, I decided to leave the corporate world, after 20+ years in Buying for retailers such as M&S and Space NK. I combined my love of finding just the right product, with my passion for building a community and encouraging conversations amongst women… Cliff and Joan’s place was born.
